Blue Karnofsky Butterfield
I grew up in Bar Harbor and began my pursuit of the arts hiking up Flying Mountain with Christina  Heineger  sketching the fiord of Mount Desert Island many Sundays in High School.   I had the incredible fortune of crossing paths with Tom Killion, a visiting professor, while I was attending Bowdoin College.   He introduced me to woodcuts in all forms and the amazing woodcut tool suppliers McClain's.    I moved to Portland shortly after grad school and found Portland Pottery (and how forgiving clay is to carve).      I'm currently enjoying making both woodcuts and sculpted tile and living in one of the most beautiful cities in the world ----Portland, Maine.
I live with my beyond-humanly-possible supportive husband Kevin and two (uh-hum) exuberant boys Satchel and Bryce.
